High School Small Group:

High Schoolers are meeting Sunday evenings at 223 E. Center St. office for small group discussions, 6-8pm.

Christmas Party:

Students & their families are invited to enjoy an evening of worship, games, and just plain fun! Bring a sweet treat to share with everyone!  Dec 21st, 6:30-8pm.

The Corn Crib @ Highlands Fellowship:

Journey back in time this Christmas to the simple life. This is a family-friendly event with parade, live animals, and music. We will be attending the 8pm performance on Saturday, Dec 17th. Let us know ASAP if you intend on going. We only have a certain # of tickets reserved.

Resurrection 2012 youth conference is right around the corner. The dates are Jan 13-15th. Please let one of the youth leaders know if you are thinking of going. Costs will be announced soon!

September Youth Events

These are the events planned for this month in addition to the Wednesday night meetings:

September 12th – Middle school youth are headed to Menchie’s for frozen yogurt

September 24th – High school youth are headed to Damascus for camping, hiking, biking, and so much more!

Ten13 not meeting on Wednesdays this August

ten13 will not be meeting on Wednesday nights the  rest of August. We will see you all again in September! Please be in prayer for the leadership team as we take this time to plan our upcoming year!

FUNDRAISER

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you to everyone that volunteered last Saturday for the door2doordeals fundraiser! I spoke with Aaron earlier today about our upcoming August date. Apparently there was some miscommunication/misunderstanding last month on my behalf with the fundraiser, which unfortunately spilled over to you all. I won’t get into the details, but he is giving us another chance to work out next month like we originally planned. We really need the volunteers out in full force in August so that we can distribute all of the coupons and collect the maximum amount of money for our group. Now that we know how it works and what to expect, this is what I’m looking for~we need volunteers to distribute and we need volunteers to be drivers only. Please let me know if you will or will not be able to make the August 6th date. We have to distribute ALL the coupons. We will be arriving early in morning to pick up our gear, taking a lunch break, and going back out to finish distributing. The more volunteers we get, the quicker we will be done for the day(maximum number of volunteers means we could finish before lunch.) Please respond to me within the week and let me know your availability.

HARVEST BAND AT FUNFEST

July 20th we will be taking ten13 to support the Harvest Band at the Fun Fest. The band will be playing from 6-9pm. The youth will meet at the E. Center St. office at 6:30, take off to the concert, and return back to the building for pick-up at regular time (unless parents are attending and wish to take their youth member home with them from there).

JULY SCHEDULE:

July 6 mid-week Bible study, E. Center St., 6:30-8pm

July 9 door2doordeals Fundraiser, Salt Water Willys, 8am

July 13 mid-week Bible study, E. Center St., 6:30-8pm

July 20 Harvest Band Concert, meet at E. Center St office, 6:30, return to office around 8pm

July 27 mid-week Bible study, E. Center St., 6:30-8pm

ten13 Events for June

Check out the event calendar for ten13 for June.

***The youth are helping the children’s ministry each Sunday morning. Each week we need 4 volunteers to commit to being at John Adams by 9:30am. As the Upstreet kids are signed in, the youth will escort them to their designated areas. For the last few weeks, the same volunteers have been used. Please talk to your ten13 member and encourage them to volunteer a couple of times throughout the summer, so that we do not have to use the same volunteers each week.

***ten13 will be meeting Wednesday evenings at the E. Center St. office.

1. June 15th we will be going to visit Darren and MaryAnn Duff for the evening. We may be doing some small projects that they need finished and/or just hanging out and fellowshipping with the Duff’s.

2. June 22nd we will be going to play a round or two of Putt-Putt Golf. Be sure to send your ten13 member with about $5 that evening. All parents are encouraged to join us for this evening of fun too!

Thirty-One Fundraiser for Ten13

Ten13 Events for May

*STARTING THIS SUNDAY, THE YOUTH WILL BE HELPING WITH THE CHILDREN’S MINISTRY. EACH WEEK WE WILL ASK FOR A NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS THAT WILL COMMIT TO BEING AT JOHN ADAMS BY 9:30AM. AS THE UPSTREET KIDS ARE SIGNED IN, THE YOUTH WILL ESCORT THEM TO THEIR DESIGNATED AREAS.

**ON WEDNESDAYS, WE WILL BE MEETING AT THE E. CENTER ST. OFFICE.

1. REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR FRAMED PICTURES TO HELP DECORATE OUR NEW SPACE.

2. IF YOU HAVE ANY COOL CHAIRS/BEAN BAGS/CUSHIONS THAT YOU’D LIKE TO DONATE~WE’D LOVE TO HAVE THEM!

3. BE IN THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT SERVICE PROJECTS YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE DOING.

*** WE HAVE BEEN ASKED TO BE PART OF THE CROWD AS OUR KIDSTUF CREW PUTS ON SOME KIDSTUF SKITS FOR THE COMMUNITY. THEY WANT OUR ENERGY, EXCITEMENT, BELLY LAUGHS, AND PARTICIPATION! SO, DIG OUT THE OLD KIDSTUF SHIRTS AND COME JOIN TYLER, VINNIE AND CAMMIE!

****WE WILL BE HAVING A FAMILY PICNIC AT EASTMAN CABIN SHELTER#39.  ALL YOUTH AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS ARE INVITED!

1. MEAT, BUNS, AND DRINKS WILL BE PROVIDED.

2. WE’RE ASKING THAT EACH FAMILY BRING AT LEAST 1 SIDE DISH

3. THERE WILL BE A BRIEF PARENT’S MEETING FOLLOWING THE MEAL

4. WE WILL BE LAUNCHING OUR NEW NAME AND LOGO!
